[ARCHIVED] Resident Feedback Survey: Liberty Bell Park Enhancements

Liberty Bell Enhanced V2 jpeg

In April 2023, the Anthem Community Council (ACC) Board of Directors gathered to make important decisions about the future of our community’s parks and facilities. During that meeting, the Board voted to remove the Hastings Field project from the Facilities Master Plan. With that decision came a new focus—Liberty Bell Park. The Board agreed that the park deserved further review and discussion to determine how it could better serve the community in the years ahead.

Today, Liberty Bell Park remains a favorite destination for families, especially during the warmer months. The splash pad, open each spring, summer, and part of the fall, brings joy to children and visitors from all around Anthem. Just steps away, the playground—open year-round—offers a place to climb, laugh, and play.

However, space is limited. The splash pad and playground share a single parking area, and the Hastings Field side of the park currently has no designated parking at all. As the community continues to grow, this lack of access has become more noticeable.

Time has also left its mark. The splash pad, once a shining centerpiece of the park, is beginning to show its age and will soon need updates or refurbishment.

Now, the ACC is inviting residents to share their thoughts and ideas for the future of Liberty Bell Park. Your input will help shape how this cherished community space continues to evolve—ensuring it remains a place for families, friends, and neighbors to enjoy for generations to come.

Goals:

  • Any proposed changes to keep Liberty Bell Park child-and family-centric.
  • Enhance Liberty Bell Park into a year-round destination for all ages, featuring a variety of amenities for fitness, recreation, and play — including both splash and dry play options.
  • Develop Liberty Bell Park in conjunction with the Hastings Field enhancements to create another signature destination park that complements Anthem Community Park and Opportunity Way Park.

Some of the proposed ideas:
Outdoor fitness and training area, kids' activity and sports area, cardio and adult fitness area, stretching and yoga area
