404 Washes
Washes are monitored and regulated by the federal government and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Arizona Regulatory Branch. Maintenance is limited to the authorized removal of man-made debris, noxious weeds and invasive plants, such as Desert Broom and Saltcedar. The ACC maintains the trails inside wash areas, up to three feet on either side of the trail. In the event of flooding, which causes movement of rocks, dirt and silt across the trails, the ACC will coordinate repairs immediately for safety reasons.

Anthem Veterans Memorial
The Anthem Veterans Memorial (AVM), located in Community Park, is a monument dedicated to honor the service and sacrifice of our country’s armed forces. It is a place of honor and reflection for veterans, their family and friends, and also is a place to show respect to those service men and women who have and continue to courageously serve our county. The monument was dedicated in 2011, and is a registered Arizona Historical Landmark.

Community Service
The Anthem Community Council offers opportunities for volunteers (with a clean background check). For example, the ACC often needs sports coaches, Community Park playground monitors, and committee members (Fiscal and Resource Management and the Utilities Panel).
The Council does not offer opportunities for required or court-ordered community service hours.
Many places in or around Anthem also offer volunteer/community service opportunities, such as Anthem Neighborhood Watch, Anthem Pets, Youth for Troops, Merrill Gardens, The Enclave, ACTS (Anthem Cares Through Service), trail cleanup/maintenance, Adopt-a-Street cleanup, Rusty's Angels Sanctuary, and the Foothills Food Bank.
Those interested must contact organizations directly to inquire about opportunities.
Country Club (Golf or Social) Memberships
Residents within the gates pay additional dues (Social and/or Golf Membership) for amenities provided by ClubCorp.

Dog Park
The Anthem Dog Park features four grass, off-leash, fenced zones; the zones are marked “Active” and “Passive,” and are not categorized by the size of the dog. Dogs that like to run, chase and “stir things up” in a good natured way should be in the “Active” zone. The “Passive” zone is intended for shy or less active dogs.

Drones
Drones are not permitted to launch or land on ACC property at any time; this includes at Community Park, Opportunity Way Park, Liberty Bell Park, the Civic Building and Community Center (and areas outside of these buildings).
During ACC-organized events, such as Music in May or Autumnfest, and during ceremonies at the Anthem Veterans Memorial, the operation of drones over the area where the event(s) are taking place is prohibited. Operators will be asked to remove the drone during these times.
For those wishing to capture drone footage for commercial/business purposes, the ACC requests that you submit information regarding the project so that we may assist you with best days and times, to ensure that FAA regulations are being met, and to ensure the safety of residents.

Garage Sales
Parkside residents may have garage sales once per quarter. However, signs advertising the garage sale may only be placed in the homeowner’s yard and must be removed at the end of the garage sale. Do not place signs in medians, on corners, and do not park cars on streets with signs directing people to the sales.
No garage sales are permitted within the Anthem Country Club community.

Gates (emergency)
There are two emergency gates in Anthem, one in the Country Club (Ravina Lane) and one in Parkside (Meridian Drive). These gates are for emergency use only and maintained by the fire department. Only the Fire Chief can make the determination as to whether the gates should be opened in the event of a public safety emergency. The Chief notifies the ACC in such an event.

Hiking
To hike Daisy Mountain, you must first apply for a permit from the State Land Department. This is because Daisy Mountain is State Trust Land.
The only access point for all residents onto Daisy Mountain is in a Parkside neighborhood, at N. Livingstone and Navigation Way. However, there is no street parking. Arrange to be dropped off/picked up, or walk/bike to the start of the trail.
No ATVs are allowed on Daisy Mountain; it is strictly for hiking, mountain biking and equestrian use.

Parking

Parkside:
- Street parking is prohibited in Parkside.
- Guest overflow to street is allowed so long as the driveway and garage are being used for parking and the overflow isn't on a regular basis.
- Recreational vehicle passes are available for three days per month. Contact Parkside at 623-742-6050.
Country Club:
- No vehicle may be parked overnight in the street without a permit. This includes guest vehicles.
- Visitor and RV parking passes are available for three days per month. For passes, speak to the gate staff members at the gatehouse.
- Commercial vehicles must be parked in an enclosed garage overnight.
- Other vehicles (i.e. boat, off-road, oversized, etc.) must be parked in an enclosed garage at all times.
The Village:
- Vehicles may only be parked in the garage or in assigned parking spaces.
- Guests may park in an unassigned visitor parking space but for no more than 48 consecutive hours and no more than 72 hours within any seven day period.
- Parking restrictions are heavily enforced on Triumph Court, a street owned and maintained by MCDOT.

Political Signs and Petitions
Political Signs
If a sign is placed on Maricopa County property, it is permitted in compliance with their guidelines, per A.R.S. 16-1019. Political signs may be placed in the public right-of-way, as long as they are not hazardous to public safety. Signs may be placed forty-five (45) days before a primary election and ending fifteen (15) days after the general election, except that for a sign for a candidate in a primary election who does not advance to the general election, the period ends fifteen (15) days after the primary election.

The Anthem Community Council (ACC) will remove signs placed on ACC property. In most cases, however, political signs in Anthem are legally placed in the public right-of-way or on private property. Council has the right to remove political signs on its own property, but may not remove signs on any other property (e.g. the county's).
In the event of a complaint when a sign is on business/commercial property, the ACC will contact the business owner. In the event that the sign was not approved by the property owner, the property owner may remove the sign. Except in unique situations, the ACC will not remove the sign. Commercial properties may have political signs within forty-five (45) days of an election or fifteen (15) days after an election (unless the signs violate city or county ordinance). All other signage must comply with the ACC’s Non-Residential Design Guidelines policy; in most cases, signage other than political signage requires ACC approval.
The homeowners’ associations are governed by A.R.S. 33-1808, which provides that the associations must allow political signs on a member’s property, but no earlier than seventy-one (71) days before the day of the election and signs must be removed within three days after an election.
Per ARS 16-1019, it is a Class 2 misdemeanor for any person to knowingly remove, alter, deface or cover any political sign of any candidate for public office or knowingly remove, alter or deface any political mailers, handouts, flyers or other printed materials of a candidate that are delivered by hand to a residence for the period commencing forty-five (45) days before a primary election and ending fifteen (15) days after the general election.
Petitions
Signatures cannot be collected nor can flyers endorsing any candidates be distributed on any ACC property, including (but not limited to) the Civic Building, Community Park, Liberty Bell Park, Opportunity Way Park, the Community Center or any of these parking lots.

SMARTDrive
Arizona's Connected Vehicle Program was initiated in 2007 by the Maricopa County Department of Transporation (MCDOT), the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and the University of Arizona (U of A). It began as a research project to identify how new technology applications could enhance traffic signal operations, incident management and traveler information. During this time, MCDOT developed the concept of vehicle prioritization and used this concept to develop applications to improve safety for emergency responders. This concept, now known as the MCDOT SMARTDrive ProgramSM, prevents emergency vehicles from colliding with one another at signalized intersections while responding to emergencies. The MCDOT SMARTDrive ProgramSM simultaneously communicates with multiple emergency vehicles arriving at the same intersection at the same time and relates back which vehicle has the right-of-way.
MCDOT constructed a test bed along Daisy Mountain Drive in Anthem to test the MCDOT SMARTDrive ProgramSM's vehicle prioritization technology in 2011. It was one of the first seven test beds in the country.

Trails
The ACC owns and cares for a 6.3-mile section of the Maricopa Trail, which is also supported by the Desert Foothills Land Trust. The section runs from Rt. 17 thru Anthem, Desert Hills and New River, ending at New River Rd. The trail is rated "beginner to intermediate," is relatively flat and horse-friendly.
Trails and paths weave through residential areas of Anthem - 15 miles in total. Walk, jog or bike these trails, but remember that pets must be leashed at all times.
The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department prohibits dogs on trails when the temperature reaches 100 degrees or higher.
