volunteering in your community

A "volunteer" is one who freely gives of their time and talents to benefit a person, cause or organization. By volunteering in Anthem, you represent and promote the community as its voice. Some volunteer positions, especially those working with children, require a background check.

board of directors

The call for candidates to serve on the Anthem Community Council Board of Directors takes place in January of each year. Any interested candidates should contact the ACC staff to learn about Board roles and requirements.

Contact your HOA Community Manager to express interest in serving on an HOA Board.

committees

Committees are composed of volunteer homeowners, supporting the Board of Directors. Each committee follows a charter and has a staff liaison. Some committees also prepare recommendations, reports and presentations for Board meetings. ACC committees include:

Contact the Community Center staff or inquire at the Community Center front desk about coaching.

junior lifeguards/camp counselors

Youth ages 12-14 yrs. can volunteer as junior lifeguards/camp counselors in the summer. Must enroll in the Junior Lifeguard/Camp Counselor Program before you can volunteer. Check the Activities Guide for upcoming programs (usually offered late spring-early summer).

neighborhood watch

Neighbors are the first line of defense in reducing crimes of opportunity and creating safe communities. Anthem Neighborhood Watch (ANW) includes a neighborhood watch program for each neighborhood in Anthem. The goal is to have a block and/or neighborhood captain for each neighborhood in the community.
