There were sweet salsas and spicy salsas represented in the first Anthem Days Salsa Contest. Nine salsa aficionados entered their creations, which were judged by a panel of community members, and Anthem Days guests. Tasters grabbed one of 200 bags of chips, made the rounds, and then voted for People’s Choice winner. Judges, Bob Lorgeree, president, High Desert Little League; Michael Stephan, owner, Brillante Management Company; and TJ Winzeler, manager, ValleyCrest Landscaping, awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, based on texture, taste, appearance and uniqueness.
